Astro: The Steller Sea Lion
by Jeanne Walker Harvey (Author) and Shennen Bersani (Illustrator)
Booktalk: Astro the sea lion doesn’t want to leave the people at the Marine Mammal Center who rescued him as a baby.
Snippet: His friends took him to the beach where he had been found and set him free in the surf. Astro paddled into the foam. Then a wave hit him. He didn’t know what to do.

The videos were excellent connections to help the book come alive.

It looks interesting, I wish your review had been more in-depth though!

Hi Madigan,
A booktalk is not the same as a review – it’s just a teaser to get you interested in the book.

This book would be a big hit with my kindergarten students. The videos are a great complement and would helpful in building background knowledge.
